What is a promise program?
Promise Programs are place-based scholarships that guarantee that every student who graduates from the local public schools receives funding for postsecondary education. Beginning in 2005 with the Kalamazoo Promise, these community-based programs have been launched throughout the country, including over 80 promise programs in California. By working together, all stakeholders in the community are able to not only ensure more equitable access to postsecondary education for their children, but also build the 21st century workforce they will need to sustain their local economy and initiatives.
Building the Calistoga Promise will require the input and participation of diverse partners from across the community. The strength of the Calistoga Promise will rely on not only stable and sustainable funding sources, but also the buy-in and support of all stakeholders. Everyone has something to offer! Please consider joining us on this exciting journey as we launch the Calistoga Promise. |
